To Jesus: Thanks for your parents

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit

Hello Jesus,

I'm just writing to you because I want to thank you for giving your mother Mary to us to be our very own mother. And I'm happy, because being a Christian means I get two sets of parents. I am the daughter of my own dad and mom; I am also the daughter of your Father (God) and your mother (Mary).

We were separated from God the Father because of our sins, but you reconciled us to your Father by your death and resurrection, and now we get to be children of your Father, because you made a way for us to reach him. I want to say thank you for giving us your Father, because that's kind of awesome.

And John 19:26-27 says, “When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, ‘Woman, here is your son,’ and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’ From that time on, this disciple took her into his home." We your followers are called to do the same, taking your mother into our own homes; now we get to be the children of your mother, and I'm so glad.

God my Father, thank you for letting me talk to you even though I'm a human and you're God. You're way too awesome for me, but still you listen to what I say, and you lovingly respond. I don't know how to adequately thank you for that.

Dear Jesus, thank you for letting me to talk to your mother; she is very nice. Please teach me how to love you as much as your mother Mary does.

Sincerely,

Rebecca
